Dog Products - A Day at the Spa

In Her "Robe", originally uploaded by Thruhike98.

Dog Products - A Day at the Spa
Don’t ask me why, but I was looking on some dog websites today and saw that there are actual canine spa lines. I guess I shouldn't be that surprised, but it does seem pretty funny to me, especially since I do not even buy spa line products for myself. But after looking at a few sites I did see some good dog products that my dogs may actually need. Having Westie's I am pretty familiar with dog's itchy skin so having some dog products to fix this is definitely a help. I have always used the dog shampoo made for itchy skin at Petco, but I guess if I want more variety I can give my dogs some specialty shampoo to get rid of their itchy skin and perhaps even pamper them.

A lot of these sorts of sites not only have dog shampoo but they also have "fur butter" which is essentially a deep conditioner for their sensitive skin. They also have some insect sprays which are pretty useful in Austin, since there are mosquitoes and fleas everywhere it seems. They even have breath spray, which luckily is not something my dogs need for the most part. But I guess if you need to cover the smell up when guests visit it might be a good idea. They also have stuff to help get rid of your dogs nasty smells, but I guess if you pamper your dog enough with these products you won’t even need that stuff. Hmmm. That is an interesting selling point.

I think I might consider this sort of stuff if their skin conditions get worse, but for now they are getting the basics, like I get for me. But I have heard from several of my readers who say their dogs have terrible skin conditions so I thought you might be interested in these dog products.

Have a great day!!

Bull Creek Dog Park

Look Before You Leap, originally uploaded by austindawn.

If you can believe it, Ender does this all the time in this same spot. Most people are in awe of dogs pictured in this picture doing it, but with Ender they just laugh at him. He is kind of the laughing stock at the park because he thinks he is a big dog and plays like one. haha.

The water is deep here and only labs and golden's seem to go into to retrieve things. haha. I suppose others do as well, but Ender and Emily want nothing to do with water that deep. heh.

The waterfall right now does not look like this, but I am sure once the drought is over it might just get back to this ;-)

This area Emily will actually submerge herself in, but only if she is REALLY hot.

This is part of the creek that the dogs go to in Austin. This is where Emily loves it the most because she can touch the water but not have to full submerge into it. hahah.

I see a bull terrier puppy when I go running at town lake all the time. it is so freaking adorable. For some reason I always forget the real name of the breed and just call it the Target dog. Oops.

It's Been Awhile...

So why not give you a cute little pup pic?

Life in Austin has been fantastic. Mike and I have found a dog park here that has a waterfall, and allows the pups to jump in a creek and play around in the water. Ender and Emily love it. We went there this weekend and last. I want to go every day but its 10 miles away. Oh well.

At this other dog park area they can jump into the river. Here ender and emily are too wussy for it though. But Emily has found a bat and a snake there already. She likes the find the most dangerously animals possible. Geesh.

In other news, I love my new job and I love where I live. I am doing things a lot more than I used to and I really feel like a new person. I really feel at home here. :-)

I've Moved!!

Bee Leaping from Sculpture Falls, originally uploaded by Tholal.

The reason I haven't written in a LONG time is because I have been ridiculously busy getting a plan together and a solution to move to Austin, Texas. Mike got into the film grad school program at UT Austin and so we had to make a plan to move. It was hush hush for awhile due to the job situation, but now that I am officially here, there is nothing to be quiet about.

We got into Austin on June 3rd and have been loving every second of it. I love my new job, my new place and I LOVE the area where I live. There are a ton of outdoor trails nearby, ones that I love to run at and ones the dogs love to go on. We have been going on a ton of walks, or hikes rather with the dogs. They have even ventured into some of the lakes, like the one pictured abobe which is really close to where we live.

Do any of you live in Austin, Texas? If so, want to hang out with me and my pups? :-)
